Katharine LiBretto is a contemporary printmaker whose work is influenced by the sublime and grandeur of the natural world, seeking out and exploring how we connect with  it, through it with each other and ourselves, and something much greater than ourselves, while creating a sense of wonder in her work.

Her screen prints  reflect the landscape she studies, focusing on a sense of place and providing illuminated imagery,  while also  reflecting on relationships between self, place and time, aiming to provide a narrative element and exploring the wonder of the world around.
Her research is done on foot, experimentation is carried out in the studio and her imagery reflects on it.   She explores different stencil making methods using a variety of materials, aiming to add illusion, textures, depth and complexity in her silk screen layers.  She plans to incorporate bookmaking into her practice, hoping to create an intimate and tactile relationship between  person and artwork.

Katharine received her Bachelor of Fine Art degree in 2007, in Graphic Design, at C.W. Post College/Long Island University, in New York.  From 2009-2011, she studied at The School of Visual Arts’ Continuing Education program in New York City until she moved to London to develop her printmaking practice full time.  In 2012 she received a Masters degree with Merit at Camberwell College of Art/University of the Arts London in printmaking.  Upon her return to the United States, she attended Artist Residencies and founded Inky Hands Print Studio.  She currently lives in Plymouth, MA, teaches printmaking and publishes editions at Inky Hands.  Her work is exhibited regularly in London, Hong Kong and the USA,  is collected worldwide and has won numerous awards.
