Gail is a trained textile, print designer and colourist. She specialises in simple and graphic prints and applies these to a variety of materials and homeware products including textiles, ceramics and paper.

Screen printing is her main passion and she loves to create practical and beautiful items with her prints.
Her love of working with fabric and colour comes from her textile studies at Edinburgh Art College and her first job working for Terence Conran and The Conran Shop as a textile designer and colourist.

She does her own printing in London at her studio in Islington and at Sonsoles Print Studio in Peckham and uses a local social enterprise to sew all her textile products. She produces limited edition paper prints, which are often a result of colour and pattern experimentation along side her textile work.

Colour plays a big part in Gail's work. Combinations are dreamed up from research and photographs taken on her travels which provide inspiration back at her studio. She was recently inspired by some time spent living in the Scottish Highlands. This resulted in a series of colour study prints with colour combinations inspired by the landscape and the nature she encountered. Inspiration for recent work came from the colours of the boats on the river Lea which she admired and studied whilst out rowing.

Being eco conscious, using natural, sustainable materials and local suppliers where possible is central to her work.
