Fatima Kaleem (b. 1999)  is a Lahore-based visual artist. She graduated with Honors from the National College of Arts, Lahore with a BFA in 2022, majoring in printmaking. Her work explores mindscapes consisting mostly of her various selves. Through scrutinizing and exacting gazes, these beings are continuously curating ideas about the self and society. The self as constructed on the expectations of the external world and the self as a porous being in continual conversation between the past and the present. Through its conception as multitudinous and evolving, a series of self portraits emerge. In a way, each work is a page from a visual diary, each modifying and revealing a new understanding of the self. Working primarily in printmaking media, her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. She was a part of the print collaboration between Haus Print Studio, London and the Cowasjee Print Studio, Lahore in 2023 as well as the Print Pals portfolio project, a collaborative printmaking volume, between the National College of Arts, Lahore and the Slade School of Fine Art, London in 2021. She has recently exhibited in a number of spaces across Pakistan including O Art Space, Numaish Gah, Full Circle Gallery, Tagheer Lahore, Kaleido Kontemporary, Artescape Gallery, the Roadside, Zahoor-ul-Akhlaq Gallery, Pakistan Art Forum, and the Pakistan National Council of the Arts. She recently curated the show ‘Heritage’ at the Shakir Ali Museum, Lahore in collaboration with Arnext Gallery.
