Tsz-ki Cheung graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2018, currently studying in the MA programme of Multi-disciplinary printmaking in University of the West of England. Through etching and letterpress his works arouse a nostalgic sense by manipulating photographs captured daily in the city. The fine transition between light and dark is a constant subject in his work. Through art making he practices seeing; passively observing the negated subject - glances once settled on clouds far away, tides long gone. These remnants are printed as a language on paper, fragments of descriptions which represent the embodiment of the fixed gaze. His prints can be considered as a momentary pause, a resting place for exhausted eyes.
