Sue Jarman is an image maker and printmaker. A fundamental part of her practice is a documentary style of observational drawing; with her main inspirations being people and landscapes. So, whether capturing figures to a soundtrack of conversations and unfolding narratives (which she calls visual eavesdropping) or being out in the landscape responding to the environment, there is always a subconscious and emotional response and connection to time and place. Printmaking provides fresh perspectives and useful constraints for developing and resolving ideas. Working with range of techniques including drypoint, etching, lithography, and screen printing; there is always an emphasis on mark making, colour and storytelling. Highlights from the last year have included self-publishing a collaborative Zine, inspired by her time as artist-in-residence at the Mawddach Residency in North Wales, and exhibiting at Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair.
