Simon Trewin had spent the last thirty years working in the creative industries helping people fulfill their artistic ambitions. In the last five years he has also been able to unlock some of his own nascent creativity by setting up a vintage letterpress studio - partly to keep alive the endangered crafts of typesetting and hand printing and partly to explore the relationship between vintage images, contemporary thought and accidental creative collisions. He creates all his pieces using traditional treadle and hand-powered vintage printing presses and using, as inspiration, a vast (and growing) collection of wooden and metal typefaces and illustration blocks.
