The work explores print, predominately linocut images. These are related to experiences of time and place in colour, line and texture, connecting stories and narratives linked to everyday moments seen or recorded. Initially the travelogue, souvenir or aide memoir was always a book of drawings collected scraps that became a response to new and unusual places. Print has always been the medium I turn to as a final result for any image. Drawings, Photographs Cyanotypes and Constructions all lead me this way. Recent work has involved found ephemera and manipulated textures along with shapes and silhouettes of people and places that have inhabited my lockdown world. Layering colours and textures help build up the levels of symbols and mystery in the work as well as the happy accident and chance of the process I have had my work exhibited in various collections including Knapp Gallery, Mustoe Merriman Ad Agency, National Art library/ V&A. Illustration awards/Society of artists agents, National print exhibition, RFH, Guitty Talberg, Jill George, The Hayward Gallery, The brain Trust and the sketchbook project /Brooklyn Art library.
