Maite Cascón (b. 1991, Madrid) is an artist whose practice revolves around a realm of figurative images imbued with rich metaphors. Through the use of humour and satirical characterizations, she reimagines myths and forgotten traditions in her etchings, challenging our present conventional behaviour. Having completed her MA in Print at the Royal College of Art, Cascón's work has garnered recognition, including the Gwen May Award from the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers, the Young Artist Award from the Society of Women Artists, the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair Prize 2020, and the Ushaw Residency and Acquisition Prize 2021. Her recent exhibitions include "Ramas" at Eames Fine Art Print Room, showcasing her etchings alongside Francisco de Goya's "Caprichos" and The London Original Print Fair with Verbatim, held at the Somerset House.
