David Morgan's work strives to make connections - between the viewer and a moment of visual excitement, whimsy, intrigue, or beauty, or between the daily world and the universe of dreams, magic, and imagination. His medium is woodcut printmaking. He carves in wood, sometimes printing single blocks, sometimes multiple blocks, sometimes reduction prints, and sometimes his work includes elements of monoprinting. His work is shown for the first time here in the UK at the WCPF. David studied art, and other things, at several universities including the University of Manchester and the Massachusetts College of Art and he has worked with mentors including photographer Frank Newlander and printmakers Jean Gumpper, Siri Beckman, Matt Brown, and Jim Lee. He has exhibited at many venues in the United States and in Peru since 2013, and has earned awards at the Americas All Media Exhibition in 2015, the Colors of Humanity Gallery Exhibition "Water” in 2021, the Ann-Marie Sculpture Garden "Shine" exhibition in 2021, and was selected for the prestigious Arequipa Print Biennial in Arequipa, Peru, in 2021. His work is in the permanent collections of the Northwest Art Center, Minot, ND, The Maine-Aomori Print Exchange, and the Kyoto International Woodprint Association in Japan.
