Molly is a printmaker & painter living in Suffolk, with a First Class BA Hons degree in Fine Art. She has always been absorbed by nature, landscape and memories. These themes permeate Molly’s work, whether on large scale metal paintings, unique monotypes or minutely crafted mezzotints documenting the drastic decline in UK birds. Thorax is inspired by the area where legs and wings attach to a central point, shining a light on the tiny powerhouse which allows movement.  This area is beautiful and vital, but easily overlooked for more ostentatious areas such as wing patterns. The spontaneous push and pull of ink through the press takes the control away from Molly and allows for a unique and fleeting impression of each insect, in this case a moth.
